Who are we?

Cool Company is a part of Verdane Capital Holdings and has been operating as an independent contracting company (or umbrella payroll provider) for more than 10 years. During that time we have learned a great deal, which we then put into practice, and we are always keen to gain new insights into how we can be the best partner possible.

We currently operate in three countries where freelance and consultancy work through independent contracting is growing in popularity year on year. More than 80,000 freelancers, consultants, students, hobbyists and people with second jobs invoice for their services through Cool Company. A flexible and secure option – plain and simple.

Insurance

Having the right insurance as a self-employed individual is often crucial when you, as a private individual, are choosing and comparing who to use when invoicing without a company and advance tax. With us, it’s simple: When you pre-register an assignment with us, you are self-employed through us.

For our personal insurances, we collaborate with Tryg Forsikring. The insurances are applicable in Norway. The insurances that are always included are divided into two main parts – personal insurance that protects the individual and liability insurance that protects if the freelancer causes an accident or damage on the job. Your personnel are safe with our insurances.

Occupational injury insurance applies if you get injured on the job or on your way to or from work. The accident insurance also covers expenses related to the injury, such as clothing, hospital transportation, and medical appointment costs. Costs for rehabilitation and aids are also included, as well as compensation for enduring pain and suffering.

Leisure accident insurance applies if you have a pre-agreed task and get injured when you are not on the assignment. This part of the insurance covers what is not covered by occupational injury insurance. The accident insurance also covers expenses related to the injury, such as clothing, hospital transportation, and medical appointment costs. Costs for rehabilitation and aids are also included, as well as compensation for enduring pain and suffering.

Liability insurance is a property insurance. It provides protection and compensation if something breaks or an object gets damaged when the freelancer is performing an assignment. For example, if you are laying flooring and accidentally damage it, or if you are cleaning and accidentally knock over a vase that breaks. However, liability insurance doesn’t only cover physical objects; it also protects against so-called financial damages. This is important for the freelancer to be aware of when working as an IT consultant or consultant in fields like finance, accounting, training, marketing, and sales. Financial damages refer to such damages that occur if, for instance, an IT consultant programs in a way that disrupts the client’s business operations or if a freelance accountant keeps accounts in a way that harms the client.»
